Museums and fossils: Visit the Paleontological Museum and Museo El Fósil to see real fossils that tell the story of the region’s ancient marine past a unique draw for science lovers.

Monasterio del Santo Ecce Homo & viewpoints: A peaceful monastery offering history, architecture and panoramic views of the valley.

Pozos Azules: A series of vivid turquoise pools a short drive from town, excellent for early-morning photography and short nature walks. Some access points are on private land and may charge a small entrance fee; consider a guided horseback or ATV ride for an adventurous approach.

Tip: Combine a museum visit with a walk through neighborhoods that show off colonial architecture and local galleries.
